Erica Chan

CHAN Erica

Professional in Acupuncture, Paediatric Tui-Na and Chinese Herbal Medicine, expertise in gynaecological and paediatric diseases, men’s health, pain relief, psychological problems and stroke rehabilitation.

Chinese medicine is all about highly individualized diagnosis and treatment. Although TCM practitioners are expected to follow a standard clinical protocol, there is no such thing as a model answer in our textbooks. It boils down to experience, intuition and a keen understanding of the patient.

Erica specializes in gynaecological and paediatric diseases, men’s health, pain relief, cosmetical treatments, psychological issues and stroke rehabilitation.

After completing the well-regarded and highly intensive internship programme in Longhua Hospital Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai, Erica practised Chinese medicine in Tseung Kwan O Hospital for 3 years. Such experience accorded her with significant clinical exposure to thousands of patients with some of the most complex conditions. She is accordingly well-versed in the typical clinical presentation, etiology, and pathology amongst the local Chinese population.

Subsequently, in order to develop a better understanding of the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine to the different body constitutions (eg Caucasians), she practiced Chinese medicine and acupuncture in Paris and Lyon for one year.
Erica has over 10 years of clinical experience in both the public and the private sectors. She enjoys the trust of thousands of patients from all over the world many of whom consider her experience, strong communication skills, and deep empathy for patients to be stand-out qualities.

Erica understands that the underlying cause of most sicknesses is derived from underlying psychological problems. People who live in busy cities like Hong Kong and Paris are struggling with mental stress which in turn causes physical illnesses. In this regard, she completed a master course of Psychological Medicine in HKU, as well as a Postgraduate Community Psychological Medicine Programme for TCMP in HKU. This added dimension allows Erica to provide patients with a treatment more comprehensive than conventional TCM practices.

Erica regularly contributes articles for various paper mediums and online platforms, such as the SCMP Group, HK01 Group and other online platforms, on beauty and health related topics. She has conducted seminars for professional bodies and international companies such as HSBC, Ernst & Young, Cheung Kong, EMSD, HK Productivity Council,WeWork and the Zonta Club (HK). Erica hopes to share her skills and methods to others about the importance of psychological medicine and its role in promoting the natural healing powers of the body.
